CLAN GREGOR SOCIETY SCIO
CGS Constitution: ‘The final authority in all matters pertaining to membership is the Council of the Clan Gregor Society SCIO’.
Any member who knowingly makes false statements or disseminates false or defamatory statements about another member or members, with the intent of bringing into disrepute that individual or group, will be subject to the authority of the Council of the Clan Gregor Society SCIO. Council will show no tolerance for individuals or groups who exhibit improper behaviour (whether in public or on the internet), whether in statements, opinions, or allegations which are not in the spirit of clanship. The expectation of correct and proper behaviour applies to current members and new members alike. Disputes or individual complaints are to be handled with discretion and should involve only the parties concerned and Council where appropriate.
Digital Communications Policy
The Clan Gregor Society SCIO will not tolerate the use of public or private forms of digital communication including internet platforms, in order to intimidate, defame or attempt to bring into disrepute any individual member of the Society or the Society as a whole. In addition, the Society will not tolerate the public or private dissemination of deliberately inflammatory material against a member or against the Society or any associated organization, either in speech, in print, in video, or by means of any social media platform.
Where it believes that such abuses have taken place, the Council of the Clan Gregor Society SCIO reserves the right to bar the individual's contributions to public forums in which the Society holds administrative rights. The Society will contact the individual(s) concerned and request the removal of the offending material and, if appropriate, the issuance of apologies. If the individual(s) is posting on a public forum not administered by the Society, the Society reserves the right to approach the administrator of that forum with a request that the comments be removed. If the individual posting such comments is a member of the Society, the Society reserves the right, following unheeded requests and after due notification to the member, to terminate the individual's membership in the Society.
Membership / New Members
As a condition of membership in the Clan Gregor Society SCIO, individuals must agree to treat fellow members with civility and to refrain from using public or private forms of communication to intimidate, defame or attempt to bring into disrepute any other member of the Society or the Society as a whole. By applying for membership in the Clan Gregor Society SCIO, the individual agrees to respect other members, and the Society as a whole. The individual also agrees that they will not use public or private means of communication either for the dissemination of deliberately inflammatory material against a member of the Society, or the Society as a whole, or for the publishing of false allegations against members of the Society or the Society as a whole. Any individual whose behaviour challenges this requirement or who chooses to disregard these protocols will be subject to regulation by the Council of The Clan Gregor Society SCIO under the terms of the Constitution.
