Loved the Hunting MacGregor Kilt Wesley. Tell me about your first name. My Grandfather's middle name was Wesley.

Thanks for the compliment on the kilt! I am named after my maternal grandfather, Gilbert Wesley McIntosh, a Kentucke man born and bread. I believe he was named for a distant relative from his McKinney mother's side, one Wesley Garrett. In my own experience I've found "Wesley" to be a name particular to the Mountain South- Tennessee and Kentucke, probably Western Virginia, too. Thus far I've not run across anyone from the Deep South with such a name. I'm unsure of the "Gilbert" origin with regard to my Grandfather, but I have recently discovered it does have Gaelic roots whereas I before thought it to be French in origin. "Wesley" I read somewhere would be from middle or old English for "the West Field (or Leigh)," but of course here in Americay it will be more associated with the Protestant movement under John Wesley (my brother's name coincidentally is Jon- no 'h')...
